Fournier Children’s Design is a highly proactive enterprise that has embraced the care for social development and conservation of the environment. Since 2003 Fournier has been involved in a most unique design of children’s clothing wholly manufactured in Bolivia, South America.  The enterprise run by women employs mostly women who formerly did not have the possibility of contributing income to the household.

A significant percentage of all our sales goes to provide medical services, pre and post-natal attention to knitters, and education to their children.

Anabel Fournier started the clothing line as a poverty alleviation project and lead by this Costa Rican born of French descent, women knitters and seamstresses craft the unique and warm designs inspired by an artsy and creative mind who combines hues, colors, textures, patterns, fabrics  and yarns into perfection and the most delicate apparel for children.

Each of our pieces is carefully hand tailored using combinations of the finest sustainable fibers that are healthier for the environments they’re grown in and the homes they become a part of, which include Peruvian Pima cotton and natural yarns from the Andean herds of alpacas and llamas. We take a thoughtful and minimal approach to our production, leaving the lightest possible footprint.

The heart of our operation is based on two elements; a stellar design and an intricate quality control system.  Stitch counts, lengths, knit patterns, color codes, are all checked by the immaculate eyes of trainers and coordinators who guide the process  which creates the master piece of  a devoted and proud artisan.
