CARING FOR YOUR FOURNIER PRODUCTS
The following instructions will help you in the process of washing, drying and storing your Fournier products. You can wash your new pima cotton and alpaca products by hand (we do not recommend using the washing machine) or dry cleaning.
Our products require only hand washing and all of them are pre-washed. However, we recommend, a once a year dry clean for the alpaca products.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR PIMA COTTON AND ALPACA
WASHING BY HAND
• Recommended water temperature: 25ºC max. We recommend using a mild soap or a human hair shampoo. Woolite is not recommended. We pre-wash the products with a very mild human shampoo at our workshop before shipping.
• Do not use chlorine bleach.
• Do not leave the pieces soaking in soapy water. Soaking the pieces for long periods of time can discolor the cotton and the alpaca.
• If you have purchase a piece that is in a set, we recommend washing all pieces in the set to avoid color differences between pieces after washing.
• Remove any excess water carefully. Do not wring or twist.
• Lay flat to dry in the shade. Reshape the piece it to its original dimensions trying not to stretch it.
• Do not tumble dry.
• Cool iron can be used if needed.
PROFESSIONAL DRY CLEANING FOR ALPACA
•If there are spots or stains on the piece, please inform the cleaner.
• Ask the cleaner to use a fresh solvent in low heat and a process that does not involve tumbling.
• It is recommended that you go to a dry cleaner that has previously dealt with alpaca and wool products.
For quality control and hygiene, we pre-wash all our products before shipping. This process allows us to make sure that the pieces do not shrink or discolor if properly handled.
We encourage our customers to follow these washing instructions.
